Giving Life to Stills

I am delighted to be presenting a panel celebrating animated shorts made by women with several lovely lady animators at Underwire Festival, at the Ritzy in Brixton on Saturday 24 November at 12.30pm.

I’ve assembled a great panel of awe-inspiring animators who work across animated documentary, fine art film, music videos, art education and kids tv – Lizzy Hobbs, Birgitta Hosea, Ellie Land, Kate Anderson and Matilda Tristram. They will be showing shorts and showreels, and talking about the inspiration that led them to work with animation.

Underwire was launched in 2010 with the belief that women working in the UK film industry needed more encouragement and a bigger platform for their work. The fact remains that women still make up a small proportion of film creatives, and Underwire looks to recognise the best short work made by women across a range of crafts.

Tickets – £7.50 for this session or £15 for the whole day at the festival.

Come to the Ritzy and celebrate great women working in film!
