Producer

During a long hot summer in the forest, Child is forced to grow up. First her Dog becomes ill, then out of the blue her Mother returns with a new lover in tow. Child’s world is turned upside down. A coming of age story, set in an enchanted Russian wilderness. 

A film by Dominica Harrison. Chado is produced by Animate Projects, co-produced with Blind Pig, and made with the support of BFI NETWORK with National Lottery funding.

Chado premiered at Hiroshima 2020. It won Second prize at the 19th International Kansk Video Festival, and was nominated for the McLaren Award for Best British Animation at Edinburgh International Film Festival 2020. It was longlisted for the BAFTA British Short Animation 2021.

The film, alongside prints produced in the making of the film, were exhibited at Leicester Print Workshop from 12 September to 7 November 2020, with support from Arts Council England.
